A trained classical dancer, Divya has given many performances. She has won the Kalathilakam and Bhavans Jothi titles. She got her first break as a child artiste in a film called Nee Ethra Dhanya while in the fourth standard. Her first feature film was Sowgandhigam which she signed when she was studying in the tenth standard.

Kavya Madhavan hails from the remote village of Neeleswaram in Kasargod district. Neeleswaram retains its rural identity. And Kavya also. Her dialect is unpolluted. It has a charm and innocence of the region. She had entered the filmdom as a child artist.
It was when she was a ninth standard student that a character came in search of her. As heroine. She is now seventeen. She has now grown in to most the busiest female star in Malayalam.Her recent hits are Oomappenninu Uriyaadappayyan and Meesa Madhavan. She is equally accepted in Tamil also. Kasi her first film in Tamil became a successful film. Her second Tamil film En Manavathil is ready for release. She has recently shifted her residence to Cochin.
